Description of internship assignment

In our Innova team we are getting requests from our service engineers to redesign and implement one of the configuration dialogs of an important report that is often used at our customers. This report can show data from several sources and the way this report needs to be configured by the service engineers of Marel is not very user friendly.
You would work on the improvement of this part of the software and your tasks would be to 1. Make an assessment on the current user interface 2. Redesign the user interface so multiple resources can be easily and intuitively added to the reports. 3. Redesign the underlying code so it is also easy expandable with new data sources 4. Implement the new report configuration dialog where all the existing functionality is migrated. 5. Add unit tests to the project
The software you’re going to adapt is part of the Innova platform, but pretty much separated in code. This makes the scope of the assignment clear.
At the end of the assignment we expect to have a new implementation, well documented on the new configuration dialog for the custom flock reports.

What does the student get in return? During you internship you will be mentored by a professional developer of the team and act as part of the team. We develop using the scrum process and even though your scope of the project is clear and you work alone in creating the new solution, you will join the team in the agile way of working.
